about

I’ve often thought of my years as a latch key kid in the ‘60s. Raised by a working single-parent in Albuquerque, our family resources were limited. I’m grateful for the local Community Center where I had the opportunity to play many sports, learn from good people and to become self-reliant.

Those experiences helped me realize my dream of becoming an LPGA teaching pro. But what if I hadn’t had those opportunities as a girl?

There are many New Mexico girls who don’t.

That’s why I established Golf for Girls, a NM 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to creating golf opportunities for girls who otherwise would not have the opportunity to play or know that golf was available to them.

I and my team are working hard to raise funds this year to offer a slate of girls' golf programs in 2021. We’re organizing girls’ golf clinics, collaborations with UNM and NMSU players and other professional golfers, arranging mentorships, funding scholarships and developing girls’ leadership ability.

We hope you'll join us in growing Golf for Girls!
